Kids love frequent snacking. Especially when they are also sweet, they look forward to them!
I don't know about you but when we go out with my little one for a walk that's when she gets a hunger pang, a craving pang or another desperate attempt to buy one more unhealthy snack from the nearest convenience store.
I experimented with many recipes to find one that was healthy, sweet and gave her energy and strength for our walk in the park. So I ended up with this one at the suggestion of a friend, and we really loved it as a family! I should note that it does not have a single gram of sugar or butter.
Cereal bars with honey and tahini
We will need:
100g flower honey
100g of tahini
80g of cereal
80g of nuts of your choice
100g of oats
20g of flaxseed or sesame
50g raisins (you can add cranberries or blueberries but I prefer Greek raisins and especially black ones Corinthian raisin which is also considered a "treasure" of antioxidants)
Mix the honey with the tahini and then add the cereals after first crushing them with your hands. ( tip: have your little helper crush half not all...she'll find it super fun :) ). Finally, add all the remaining ingredients and mix carefully with your hands (it would help more to wear gloves). After finishing, we cover a long narrow cake mold with transparency and put the mixture. We spread it well and cover it again with transparency. We leave them in the refrigerator for a night. The next day in the morning, unmould it and cut it into long narrow bars.
Good luck
Lena
