Propolis! So much has been said and even more written! I don't think there is a person, especially a mom, who hasn't heard of her. But how can we use it in our daily life?
When I first saw a bee carrying propolis on its legs (pollen collection baskets!), I was excited. So I started looking for information about her and realized that I had in my hands such a precious gift that my beekeepers generously offered me!
But how could I include it in our daily life? How would I give it to my daughter? Is it safe or not? Is it only for coughing or not? Only for the child or for us too? I am also a mom with the same worries and problems as most moms I think. So I started using it experimentally....at first. My daughter was three years old then….
Her first contact with propolis was when she developed stomatitis. He was in no mood to eat and had a constant moan of discomfort. She was too young to give her tincture and at the urging of my pediatrician (who comes from a beekeeping family!) I gave her raw propolis the size of a lentil to chew as gum….she swallowed it right away! Shockingly! A few hours later I gave her another piece – gum from the bees! She kept it in her mouth for half an hour and that was it! It was evening... The next morning she was in the mood for food! Since then every time she coughed or sneezed I gave her gum from the bees! Every time we went to the playground and she would put whatever she found in her mouth, before she went to bed I would give her bee gum (to disinfect!) Even when she had otitis I gave her bee gum! For scratches and cuts we had the tincture.
When she started kindergarten I started giving her a few drops almost every morning as a precaution. He got sick less and when he did it was for 2 days at most. I had managed to shield her body ! Later I discovered the excellent cough syrup made by me in which of course I added propolis tincture !
Vassilis and I also experimented. For many years I always had a cortisone ointment in my bag for cold sores. At one point I thought of trying propolis tincture. Now herpes was a 24-hour issue! I also tried it on the pesky cuticles! One drop is enough, but only at night. The day has no results, believe me I have tried it. The same applies to cuts and burns during cooking. It is better to put a few drops of propolis at night.
Vassilis, in periods of stress, had small sores in his mouth, the so-called canker sores. Without cortisone ointment she could not calm down. The propolis tincture is the only preparation with which these small wounds healed very quickly. Tried it on shaving cuts. But also in larger scale cuts, like the saw, it was just as effective.
We had her in our lives. So simple and painless .
While looking to find the properties of propolis, I came across the book by Mr. Bikos "Propolis the miracle of bees". What I found amazingly interesting in this book and actually piqued my curiosity to do my own personal research is this: propolis can "work" as more than just an antibiotic. It can become a source of immunity...!!!
I hope you find ways to use propolis in your everyday life and if you want you can share them with me. I will be glad!
And if you have any questions while reading my article or even if you have other questions about propolis, I will be very happy to discuss them.
Yours sincerely,
Lena
